Professional Supervision on the Redcliffe Peninsula and Online
SUPPORTING YOU TO FIND BALANCE AT WORK
Clinical supervision can be provided to Social Workers, Counsellors, Community Support Workers, Mental Health Workers, and other Allied Health Practitioners.
WHAT I CAN OFFER YOU
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker & Psychotherapist who has been a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers since 1995. I have always been committed to professional development having completed graduate psychotherapy training with the Australian Association of Buddhist Counselling and Psychotherapy (AABCAP) and Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy (Hakomi NZ). I am also a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner having completed Peter Levine's specialist trauma training delivered via Somatic Experiencing Australia.
My Social Work experience entails 23 years in Mental Health and Child Protection Services in Australia and New Zealand and 6 years in private practice. I have worked across all domains of adult mental health including case management, inpatient, and acute/crisis mental health teams. I have also worked in statutory child protection and therapeutic services involving children and young people who have experienced child abuse. This experience includes Senior Social Work roles that involved the provision of supervision to Mental Health Social Workers, Child Protection Social Workers, and Social Work students undertaking their university field placements.
Currently I work in private practice and am loving the new learnings, inspiration, and freedom it has given me to live with authenticity.
THE APPROACH I TAKE
My supervisory approach combines my Social Work practice background with psychodynamic, somatic, and relational approaches. I believe in the importance of developing a supervisory relationship that is based on a sense of safety, trust, and working collaboratively on your goals. One in which we would openly discuss our core beliefs, values, theoretical orientations, and approaches to clinical work. If there are differences we would talk about them honestly as I believe transparency and mutual respect engenders understanding, new learning, personal and professional growth.
I invite you to be you, to be mindful, and to be present with curiosity about everything that is related to your work as a clinician/practitioner in whichever field you work. Whatever you bring to supervision is fine with me. I can be most helpful with:
